Event Litter Prevention and Waste Minimisation Guide
Barwon South West Waste and Resource Recovery Group (BSWWRRG) are currently in the production stage of an Event Litter Prevention and Waste Minimisation Guide (‘Guide’) and associated templates for events of all scales in regional Victoria. The resources and learnings in the form of a best practice and practical Guide is for community groups, local government, land managers and event managers to minimise waste, prevent and reduce litter from events and sustainably change towards more sustainable outcomes and be available for others to deliver similar event improvements regionally and across the state.
This project will also have direct involvement from the Bellarine Catchment Network’s Caring For Our Bays (CFOB) program as the pilot group for developing and implementing the guide. This project will harness CFOB and their event partners and utilise their relationships with key event operators who have championed the sustainable event ethos and progressed positively towards eco-friendly events.
To help us prepare content for the guide, we would appreciate it if you could share your thoughts and experiences around event management in our short online survey, which will take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. Your feedback will play an important role in supporting the content and development of the Event Waste Minimisation Guide, and there is also an opportunity for further involvement in the project at the end of the survey.
